Grasshoppers

(Age 4.5 - Kindergarten)

We introduce martial arts principles and condition bodies and minds. Each lesson focuses on an age-appropriate theme such as coordination, personal safety, or teamwork. Grasshoppers not only greatly increase their chances of success in the martial arts, but often improvement in school and other athletic activities.

Tigers

(1st - 2nd Grades)

We use fun games and drills to to improve self-defense skill, strength, reflexes, coordination, and balance.  Kids practice how to work as a team and how to get the most out of working with others.

Cranes

(3rd - 6th Grades)

This age group learns that effort over time leads to real strength! We dig deeper into patterns of self-defense and work on body conditioning. This training lays the groundwork needed for safe sparring, board breaks, and throwing partners.

Monkeys

 (1st-6th grade purple and blue belt) 
As students advance, Monkeys learn sparring, grappling, and more complex self-defense techniques. Protective gear is required as students begin to participate in more free-form matches. Fitness and self-discipline expectations are higher at this rank.

Dragons

(Green Belt +)
The Dragons Leadership program is optional for advanced students. Dragons attend a half hour lesson every week addressing how to be good leaders and teachers at Unity, in school, and at home. They assist adult teachers in one lower-ranked children’s class each week with increasing responsibility as they progress through the program.
